[[Let's go!|Lab Intro]]Alcremie teeters and wobbles in its ball, leaving a trail of cream behind it. How will you manage to keep things clean when it's out of its ball?
[[Release Alcremie]]
[[Return|Check the PC]]Two Alcremie toss globs of cream, as well as other globs of what appear to be flour between themselves and the Milcery. On a closer look, however, you note that neither of the Alcremie is the Ruby Cream variety that Professor Maple had requested. This might be harder than you originally anticipated...
[[Leave them alone|Calmwater South]]
(if: $pokedex is true)[[[Check the Pokedex|Alcremie Pokedex]]]You call Alcremie out in front of you. Brigid nods in approval for a moment, but only for a moment. With a flash, her Ninetales is already upon your Alcremie, sending it toppling down with a well-placed (text-colour:grey)[Iron Tail]. Alcremie tips and falls back, splattering you slightly with loose cream before you can pull it back into its Pokeball.
"Eh, I prefer Slurpuff."
With that, she presses a button on her desk, dropping the floor of the elevator out from under you!
[[Uh oh...|Brigid's Secret Bad End]]ALCREMIE
The Cream Pokemon
Alcremie's body is made up of sweet-tasting whipped cream. As a result, they are prized among pastry chefs as partners. The color of an Alcremie is determined by the direction and time when the Milcery it was evolved from was spun, while the length of time determines the texture between consistant Creams or separated Swirls.

You step inside, finding an elevator down into a secret lair below. As the elevator comes to a halt, several searchlights illuminate the area. At the far end of the room is a small writing desk, where a black-haired bespectacled woman sits. She wears a fine skirted suit, with an imblazoned scarlet (text-colour:red)[**R**] on the lapel.
"Ah, Kit... I've been waiting for you." the woman says, drawing a Pokeball from her side. "Did you know that I used to be a gym leader back in the day? It's true! I ran a quaint little Normal-type gym. I had trainers working under me and everything. But here's the thing, see? Being a gym leader? It's dull as dirt sitting around in a gym waiting for people to come to you. But running your own evil team? Now *that's* where the fun is! So come now, Kit, face me with one of your Pokemon, and see if you have what it takes to bring down a Rocket Admin!"
With that, she tosses the Pokeball out in front of her, calling forth a sleek Alolan Ninetales in a burst of light.

"Oh, what a pity you weren't able to catch the big bad Rocket boss! Seeing no good options, you shift your body weight to look out to the other side and stretch your hand out to steady the move.

My running theory right now is that in the absense of any real threats out here in the Reserve, they've adapted their eggs to be less for healing and nutrition, and more for sharp spikes of energy from easily broken-down sugars and carbohydrates. The result is a fascinatingly candy-like egg, as I'm sure you're now familiar with. Those sharp spikes of energy help them climb up cliffs and walls with surprising alacrity, as well! But look at me rambling. You'd probably like to get back to the lab and get cleaned up, eh? We can try again once you've gotten a good warm soak."
BAD END 2/9: HAVING AN EGG-CELLENT TIMEYou toss the ball from quite the distance, clipping the zubat's wing with your Pokeball. As you watch the bat be drawn into the ball, you can almost her Professor Maple praising you for such a well-placed shot!
[[Watch the ball|Zubat Catch]]Farfetch'd sits in its ball with its leek draped across lap. It seems to be in a meditative trance.
[[Release Farfetch'd]]
[[Return|Check the PC]]You call Farfetch'd out in front of you. It stands at the ready, leek in hand like a samurai poised to strike. You order Farfetch'd to attack, but its charge is cut short by a withering (text-colour:cyan)[Ice Beam] from Brigid's Ninetales, Farfetch'd crumbles on the other side of the fox, unable to have landed a solid blow. You call Farfetch'd back to you, and Brigid laughs.
"Pity. Looks like...you couldn't quite cut it."
With that, she presses a button on her desk, dropping the floor of the elevator out from under you!

The mud in this part of the Gloommire is thick, and heavy. After merely a few minutes of walking, you've sunk in about half a dozen patches of deep mud, and nearly lost a shoe twice now.
[[Travel east|Gloommire 1]]
[[Travel west|Gloommire 3]]Across the river from the Sweetwood Sector, the environment changes dramatically. Where beyond the rivers edge you can see tall trees and heavy shrubbery, here you can only find mud, more mud, and the occasional sad-looking tree poking up out of the swamp. The Gloommire Sector seems to stretch on for miles and miles.
[[Follow the river|Gloommire 2]]
[[Travel further away|Gloommire 4]]The Gloommire continues on almost indefinitely. Or at least it feels like it does. The ground is so soft, muddy, and mildly perilous that it feels as though every single step is hard-fought.

[[The nerve!|Gloommire 1]]Professor, I did it!
Professor Maple looks up from her paperwork and grins with delight. "Fantastic, Kit! Let me see the Pokemon that you've managed to bring back!"
Professor Maple watches pleased as you bring out the Pokemon you were instructed to capture, and nods appreciatively at each one. By the time you're finished, she's absolutely beaming.
'Kit, I'm so proud of you. I wanted you to get more practice being independent out in the field, and I'm so glad you were able to get out of your shell like this. Look at all you were able to accomplish!
"Grimer, Grimer!"
"Ah, and it seems that Grimer wants to congratula-"(text-colour:purple)[SPLAT!]
Before Professor Maple can finish her sentence, Grimer has already giving you a sliding, slimy tackle-hug, knocking you both to the floor of the lab and nearly covering you in muck. Still, given how well today has gone, you can't help but laugh along with Grimer, Professor Maple, and Nigel.
GOOD END 1/2: MISSION COMPLETE(set:$clank to 0)
Several goomy slither around on the floor of the cave surrounding the sleeping Goodra. Tossing a Pokeball from here is too risky; missing or hitting the Goodra would surely wake it up, and you get the feeling that the small, safari-grade Pokeballs you carry wouldn't be enough to contain such a beast. There are some rocks nearby that you might be able to take cover behind. The only trouble, however, is *getting* to them.

[[Now let's get out of here before they notice!|Crystalden 5]]You call Goomy out in front of you, relying on the pure power of a Dragon-type. Unfortunately, that Dragon typing quickly proves more of a liability as Ninetale's Fairy charms render your Goomy's attacks useless. When Brigid tires of toying with you, she waves her hand dismissively, causing her Ninetales to let loose a devastating (text-colour:magenta)[Moonblast], easily knocking aside your little Goomy.
"Come now, Kit. Sending a Dragon against a Fairy-type? And here I thought you a researcher?"
With that, she presses a button on her desk, dropping the floor of the elevator out from under you!
[[Uh oh...|Brigid's Secret Bad End]]It's Grimer, your best buddy! He plays happily in his Pokeball, glad to be coming on an adventure with you.
[[Return|Check the PC]]GRIMER
The Sludge Pokemon
This Pokemon was once on the verge of extinction due to environmental efforts to clean up the toxic wastewater which Grimer relied on for food. Many surviving Grimer have adapted to new less toxic diets, however, leading them to be more manageable, if still slimy, pets for ambitious trainers.
[[Return|Grimer Talk]]Grimer plays with a small rubber ball in a side from of the lab marked off with a nursery gate. The ball is coated in sludge, and leaves smudges on the walls, ceiling, and floor of the room wherever Grimer bounces it. You don't look forward to cleaning up this mess later...

[[Bid Grimer farewell and head back to the lab|Maple's Lab]]You call Grimer out in front of you. It turns back to you with a stoic nod and a little thumbs-up, giving you just a bit of confidence. Brigid stops and stares at the blob for a moment, trying to work out a plan of attack. She calls for her Ninetales to attack with a (text-colour:magenta)[Moonblast], but Grimer merely shrugs off the attack as it advances. She changes tack, trying to have her Ninetales fire off an (text-colour:cyan)[Ice Beam] instead. Grimer hardens and solidifies for just a moment before shattering free and unleashing a sludge wave that knocks Brigid's Ninetales aside. With a grimace, she calls her Ninetales back to her and stands from her seat. You and Grimer both approach her, but she manages to juke between the two of you. She makes a mad dash for the elevator before turning around to gloat.
"You may have gotten lucky here with your type matchups, but there's no way you'll catch me now! So long, suckers!" With that, she presses a button on the elevator triumphantly, before waiting a moment. "Wait, did I press the wron-WRONG BUTTON?!!!
(text-colour:green)[SPLAT!]
Brigid falls as the elevator falls out underneath her, sending her down into the slime pit below. From the goo-bliette, you can hear her faintly call out "Why do I even have that button???". You and Grimer share a sloppy hi-five for your successful battle. While Grimer chows down on some victory Pecha berries, you wait for Professor Maple to arrive. If nothing else, she'll be pleased to know who's been behind all the sabotage at the Reserve lately!
GOOD END 2/2: BRIGID'S SECRET GOOD ENDGrimer greedily gobbles up the Pecha berries that you offer, and shortly after begins sniffing about you for more! Before you can make a move to get away, Grimer pulls you into the enclosure!
(text-colour:purple)[SPLAT! SLUUURRP! SPLAT!]
Grimer climbs all over you trying to get to your bag, soaking you in slime before it gives you another slimy lick, leaving you paralysed on the floor. As you lie there in the muck, it begins to root around in your bag to find more berries.
Professor Maple finds you some time later, giggling a little with Nigel right before her. As Nigel runs to get some medicine to cure your paralysis, Professor Maple looks bemusedly down at you.
"Now Kit, why did you come back here to play with Grimer before your mission was done? There will be plenty of time to play once the mission is finished! Go get a shower, and maybe tomorrow you can get out there and get those new Pokemon, ok?
BAD END 1/9: Grimy GooYou decide to move while the getting's good, scrambling over to another nearby set of rocks. Just in time, too, as you watch your old position get covered in a spray of slime from the Goodra's mouth. Several of the Goomy follow after the spray of slime, looking to see if anything was caught in the barrage. You might be able to throw a Pokeball at one of them, but how would you go about retrieving it?
[[Throw the Pokeball|Caught 2]]
[[Bide your time and keep getting distance|Run 3]]The pit that you are currently standing in seems purposefully dug, given both the depth and the smoothness of the walls. You're about 10 feet down, although the thick layer of mud currently filling your shoes makes it more difficult to gauge the exact depth. "I've seen an Escape Rope out there somewhere. It's useful for getting down from steep places you can't easily get down without help."
"I know it's at least somewhat of a tradition among researchers to leave their old Pokedexes in the caches when they no longer need them in order to help younger researchers. There's always a chance you could find one of those ones out there. Likewise, I'm sure there's plenty of people who leave lucky charms or even just neat things they found in the boxes."

Lastly, don't go too far north, or you'll end up in the (text-colour:purple)[Gloommire Sector]. There's nothing you'll need there, so just don't worry about it."
[[Thanks, Professor!|Maple's Lab]]Fortunately, while it takes some time, Professor Maple and Nigel discover you before the Ariados do.
"Kit? Are you alright? Hang on, let me get you down from there!" you hear Professor Maple calling from behind you. Light streams from an unknown source behind you, but it does illuminate what you had feared in front of you. A large pool of mud, the berries still floating on the surface. Before you can warn her against it, you hear a call of "Tropius, use Cut!" from behind you, and brace for impact...
(text-colour:purple)[SPLAT!]
As the webs are cut, you fall forward into the mud below, taking a facefull as the mud begins to cling to the front of your clothes. After a few seconds of wet, gloopy repositioning, you're able to get yourself surfaced near the front of the pool, where through the muffled sounds of ears full of mud, you can still hear Professor Maple trying to stifle a laugh. As if on cue, you feel the force of something dropping onto your shirt, realizing that one of the berries was plastered over your eye. A quick motion to wipe some of the other mud away indicates that the other was still in place.
"Oh Kit, maybe this wasn't the best day to send you into the Crystalden Sector for the first time..." Professor Maple remarks as she helps you up out of the mud pool. "And being stuck in that web couldn't have made things any better. Here, let's call it a day and head back to the lab so you can get cleaned up.

"Actually, Kit, let's take it back a step. I apologize for not starting with a more pressing question: You're not hurt, are you?"
After a moment of noting that the only thing hurt was your dignity, Maple returns to looking down into the pit with disdain.

(if:$card is true)[[Wait, hang on... There's a slot here?|Brigid's Hideout]]Part of the area seems somewhat suspicious compared to its surroundings, as you head in that direction to take a closer look, however, the leaves and grass on the ground suddenly give way beneath your feet!
(text-colour:purple)[SPLAT!]
Your landing is fortunately softened by a thick layer of mud at the bottom of the pit; a small comfort as you get a faceful from your landing. The mud is thick, cold, and full of bits of grass, leaves, and dirt. As you crawl back to your feet, the mud seeps deeper into your clothes, rendering everything colder and heavier. After you've taken a moment to clear the mud from your eyes, you have the opportunity to look around and try and figure out what just happened.

[[Head back to the caves|Crystalden 8]]You spin counterclockwise with the Milcery grabbing onto your hands, making sure not to stir for too long. After a few seconds, you let go of the Milcery's hands, where it goes flying. It tumbles through the air for a moment before landing on the ground with a spectacular spinning finish which ends in a bright flash of light. When the dust settles, the Milcery has evolved into an Alcremie! Not only that, but it's just the right kind of Ruby Cream that Professor Maple wanted. As you pick up a Pokeball to finish the job, the Alcremie walks over and gives it a tap itself, disappearing into the ball.

[[I did it! I caught one!|Calmwater South]]You take the Milcery in your hands and spin hard counterclockwise. It gives a little squeal of delight as it lifts into the air around you; a noise so distractingly cute that it throws you off-balance for a moment. You and the other Milcery shake yourselves off, neither worse for wear (except for your newfound creamy coating). You look over to your first Milcery, only to find in dismay that you've overspun it! You've wound up with a Ruby Swirl Alcremie, not a Ruby Cream! Still, there are more willing Milcery, and you have more Strawberry Sweets.
[[Let's try that again...|Milcery Battle]](set:$clank to it + 2)
You make a break for the rocks sliding behind them just at the last moment before the Goodra begins to stir. It looks hazily in the direction of the rocks you're hiding behind, but you can't be sure if it ascertained your position yet or not. There are other rocks nearby that you might be able to hide behind instead, but you'll need to act quickly.
[[Scramble to the new rocks|Hidden Move]]
[[Stay where you are|Caught 1]]You keep running, managing to delve further into the room without being noticed. Or at least, you don't think you've been noticed yet. [[Keep running!|Run 3]]
[[Take the opportunity to hide|Caught 3]]You decide to keep making a break for it while the Goomy are distracted moving to the back of the chamber. There, you manage to find a Goomy that has been separated from the rest.
[[Capture it!|Goomy Catch]](set:$clank to it + 1)
You creep carefully over to the rocks, careful to avoid any of the slippery slime that coats almost every surface of the room. You take cover behind the rocks, looking for your next move. As you scout, however, the Goodra begins to tussle slightly in its sleep, and seems as though it might wake up. In a dreamlike haze, it begins to sniff the air near you. Do you run for different cover, or hide?
[[Run for better cover|Run 2]]
[[Hunker down and hide|Sneak 2]]You keep up your sneaking, moving further into the room, moving only when you can. After several careful minutes, the Goomy still circle their Goodra like little slimy planets orbiting the sun, and you've begun to understand the pattern of their movements. You think. You might be able to take advantage of the patterns to get into a position where you could pick one off with a Pokeball, or you could hide here and wait for one to get close enough.

[[That could have gone better...|Dawnmeadow South]]Starly emerges from his Pokeball and begins to take flight, letting you grab onto his talon as he ascends. For such a small bird, the little guy packs quite a lot of lift (despite one slip of the wing that nearly sends you both tumbling back into the mud). Welcome to the wonderful world of Pokemon! My name is Professor Maple. I work here at the Pokemon Reserve, a massive contructed habitat for Pokemon of all kinds, where my resrach team and I study them. Speaking of my research team, that's you!
In this game, you play as my assistant Kit. She's a charming girl and an excellent learner, but she's, well, she says she's "cursed" when it comes to Pokemon, but I think a lot of that can be chalked up to getting in her own head. Still, she does have quite the talent for making a mess out there in the field.
Before we get too far into things, though, I should probably ask. What kind of trainer would you say that you are?
[[Well, I'd say that I'm a...|Difficulty Select]]You stumble around blindly in the dark trying to make your way back to the entrance of the cave. However, with the absense of light, it's simply too easy to get turned around. Before long, it becomes clear that the best course of action would be to simply stay where you are and wait for Professor Maple to come find you. As you turn to sit down near a wall and pull out some berries to snack on, however, you trip over an unseen rock in the dark.
SPLAT!
You don't quite hit the ground when you fall. Instead, you are caught hanging precariously in the air by large strands of thick, sticky Ariados web. In your shock, a few of the berries you were carrying drop down onto the ground below, falling with a thick, wet *plop* that signals that the webs are the only thing holding you over a large mud puddle.
[[Nothing but to wait, and maybe yell for help?|Lost Bad End 2]]You take the Milcery in your arms and spin clockwise for just a few seconds before letting go, sending it flying at the end with a toss. Unfortunately, your aim is not as good as you'd like it to be. The Milcery collides with another as it lands, triggering a huge flash of light. When the light clears, you see that both of them have evolved into Alcremie! Unfortunately, neither of them seem to be Ruby Cream; only Vanilla Cream. To make matters worse, neither of them are terribly happy with you throwing them into one another!
